The Avalon Foundation in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation present the 2019 Clean Water Concert Series. The Clear Water Concert Series offers a family-friendly way to both celebrate our community and raise awareness about what we can do to help restore health to local rivers.
On June 15, the U.S. Navy Band Commodores take the stage. The Commodores are the Navy’s premier jazz ensemble and have been performing the very best of big band jazz for the Navy and the nation for over 40 years!
All concerts take place on Harrison Street by the Tidewater Inn. The street festival starts at 6:00 p.m. and the music starts at 7:00 p.m. While enjoying the music, be sure to stop by the dozens of environmental and community exhibits, including CBF's, so that you can learn more about the Bay and how you can be a part of the movement to restore it.
These concerts are free and open to the public. Attendees should bring a chair. Although hopes are high for the same pleasant weather the series had last year, the rain venue for these shows will be the Avalon Theatre at 40 East Dover Street.
This concert series is intended to promote community awareness about the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, the multi-state, science-based plan to restore the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams.
